Samism: Yogurt

On Sunday, I had just been quietly telling Sammy more about the bread and the water and what they mean during the sacrament when he asked me why they don’t give us really big water at church because he’s really thirsty when he sat and pondered for a minute (and I hoped that some of the lesson was going in) when this conversation started:

Sammy: Mommy, why don’t they have yogurt at church? (I mean, come on they pass out bread and water, right?)

Mommy: (not sure what to say and pauses for a second)

Sammy: Oh I know, it’s because they don’t have spoons here!

(duh Mom!) Everything is so simple right?!

Summer has arrived, woo hooooo! :)

175 essays, scantron finals, orals, review packets, notebooks, countless begging emails and four cheaters later I can finally say goodbye 2009-2010 school year and welcome summer!

Sammy kept asking me yesterday, “is it Sunday tomorrow?” (because I’m usually home all day only on Saturdays) but we had a good and exhausting day.

We got passes to La Mirada’s water park, Splash, and we went over when the baby got up from his first nap! Thad had to work (he’s re-piping someone’s house this week) so I took the boys by myself. It is a nice little park with free parking and it is just the right size for us! We had a good time. Sammy loved it and even saw his swim teacher Miss Rose, Nathan wasn’t feeling well (I even ended up taking him in later on in the day) but still had fun just was a little clingy, but the baby wasn’t too sure about it!

It’s Almost Summer!

While I was getting pictures ready for the post about Nate I looked over and Sammy (who is never allowed outside without sunscreen on) was happily applying his own sunscreen. I think that he got a little too much!
Mommy has five more school days and 150+ essays still left to grade!
We can’t wait for summer!

Samism – Mommy’s Birthday Party

Yesterday was my birthday and we went out to eat. This is the conversation that ensued on the way home...

Sammy – Mom, when’s your birthday party?
Mommy – This is my party! We went out for breakfast for my birthday.
Sammy- But you can’t invite us Mom, we’re your family!

My Silly Nathan!

Nathan “disappeared” while Thad was taking care of the baby the other day and when he found him he was asleep on our bed. Cute right? Just look at this picture…and then look even more closely. He’s tucked himself into a pillow and has fallen asleep. 

Samism – Knee-highs

I was putting on my shoes/socks for work when this conversation began:

Sammy - Mommy, is it church day today?

Mommy- No, it's Thursday, I'm getting ready for work.

Sammy-then why are you putting on long socks?

Mommy- Oh, these are knee-highs; I wear them with my work pants.

Sammy-Like the knee-highs and the Lamanites?

Sammy’s Swim Lessons

He’s four now you know. He’s so big. He can do so many things and he will be sure to tell you that he’s so strong, or so big, or whatever, because he’s four . ;)
We signed up for swim lessons (because we think it’s important!) at Splash in La Mirada. The classes are small! I was able to sign up (not like at CPE where it fills up the morning that the classes are available) and it is a beautiful facility. Sammy is in a class of three (there were two teachers for 7 or 8 kids) and is loving it. The first day he came home upset because he said it was too short but when he got to go back again two days later he decided that it was okay.
Poor Nate and Danny just have to watch because they’re under three! I think that we’re going to get passes to Splash for the summer (and Buccaneer Bay). It looks just right for our little (and young) family!
